In Q3 2015, Freelancer.com’s data scientists reviewed 370,901 jobs, up 4% from 356,876 jobs in Q2 2015. Freelancer analyzed the jobs on the platform to create a snapshot of global business trends. “Freelancer.com’s quarterly Fast 50 report is a pulse check of the movers and shakers across industries, technologies, products, and companies. We can glean from the increasing demand in Windows related skills that Microsoft is still a giant player in its field, and will continue to assert its dominance,” says Matt Barrie, Chief Executive of Freelancer.com. “What remains to be seen is how long it will be among the top players in the industry.”
The key findings include:
- Microsoft jobs surge in the freelance work market
- Creative projects boom as young urban creatives find work online
- Visually heavy platforms like Pinterest and Instagram are winning the Social Media war
Freelancer.com also saw a 39% year on year increase in active users, bringing the all-time value of projects posted to $2.8 billion. The company’s study can also be downloaded as a PDF.
